Welcome to the 2008 fantasy racing season, our fifth year of operations. The site will use the exact rules and pricing from 2007 for 2008. One race events will be more prominent this year, starting with the Bud Shootout on 2/9/08 which is the primer for the 500. There will be limited OWC/OWS events this year. All players will still only compete against 11 other teams, entry fees are still $50/$51, and winners will still collect a 9:1 payout of $450.00 for first place in each league and division. Matchups will still be based upon the specifics for each track and will be changed weekly. Matchups will still consist of 2 and 3 driver pairings. Pick the winner and earn all the points for each driver in the matchup, pick the loser and earn that driver's points.
There will be many changes on and off the track in 2008. The COT will be used in all 38 events making it the car of today, teams have switched brands, drivers have switched seats, and the series has been re-renamed. There are many questions about the new season. Can Hendrick meet the expectations of domination, again? Will the Roushkateers catch up for Ford? Can Dodge compete at a higher level this year? Will Toyota get that first win with JGR? Will the COT live up to the hype? Will Dale find the checkers and finally find consistency? Just a few of the many questions race fans have, all to be answered soon.
For fantasy racers, it looks to be a better year. Statistics will mean more with a half season of COT records in the books. Hopefully Goodyear has sorted out the new suspension and eliminated the tire issues from last year. We all hope the rain will stay away on raceday.
